Quarto. 304pp. A4 sized "xerox" copy in clip binder, with a laminated b&w copy of the illustrated dust jacket front panel and rear panel "blurb" which were used in the actual production. Black & white frontis, and photo plates, line drawings by Dwina Murphy-Gibb. One of two such proof copies prepared for final checking, etc. before going to press. This copy inscribed by the publisher, Tony Naylor to Clive Harper with his thanks for Harper's assistance with the publication, and SIGNED by the editor Keith Richmond on the title-page. The book was the first major separate study of Crowley's "Rites of Eleusis." It includes the full texts of Crowley's Rites (as performed at Catxon Hall), a 40pp historical Introduction by Keith Richmond, and essays: "The Eleusinian Mysteries" and "Aleister Crowley and 'The Rites of Eleusis'" by Terence DuQuesne, etc. Plates of Leila Waddell and others. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Being a proof copy the emphasis was on the text, which is sharp and clear, whereas the illustrations are not at all sharp. Light wear else a tight, clean VG+ copy. Item #68261
