Original forest green cloth binding with gilt-stamped title and device on front board & spine. B&w frontispiece with tissue guard and b&w plates. Edition limited to 500 numbered copies, (the first 23 copies were issued with a slip case: this copy is NOT in slipcase). It is INSCRIBED on the title-page "For Rob & Derek, With much love, Paul & Jackie, December '80." Paul [Words] and Jackie ran the Temple Press (who published the book), and each of their signatures incorporates the "TOPY [Temple ov Psychick Youth] Cross." Later from the collection of British artist, writer and musician DAVID TIBET (founder of the music group Current 93) with his OWNERSHIP SIGNATURE on the blank facing the title-page (Tibet of course moved in the same alternative music circles as the founders of TOPY). A nicely produced facsimile of the original 1911 edition of this collection of aphorisms by Bertram and Russell, accompanied by reproductions of ten full page black and white line drawings by Austin Osman Spare (each with tissue-guards). Just a hint of shelf wear, very slightly musty, else a tight, clean near Fine copy. Item #68344
