An original typescript of an unpublished novel "The Way of Blame"

NP, ND (ca. 2000s). Black plastic comb binding, with transparent plastic cover sheet and black card rear cover. Quarto (11 5/8 x 8inch). (iv) + 228pp. Computer generated typescript with text on both sides of the sheets. An apparently unpublished novel written under the name Ibn al-Rawandi, which was the Islamic name of David Hall (1942-2007), who is best known as the author of "Beelzebub and the Beast", and as the editor and publisher of the 1970s occult journal "Sothis". In the 1990s Hall converted to Islam, and immersed himself in its study, writing variously on the subject, including the book, "Islamic Mysticism, A Secular Perspective" (Prometheus Books, 2000). "The Way of Blame" seems largely a vessel to explore his thoughts on Islam, Islamic mysticism, and to a much lesser extent, magick. Loosely inserted is an autograph letter, signed, which David Hall sent with the typescript to his friend, the British artist, writer and musician DAVID TIBET (founder of the music group Current 93). In the single page letter, dated March 23, 2006, Hall writes depreciatingly of the novel, and asks Tibet if he may know of anyone who would be interested in publishing it. The typescript has David Tibet's OWNERSHIP SIGNATURE on the title-page. The comb binding is starting to pull away at the top (it could probably be put back in place without too much effort), otherwise both typescript and letter are in near-fine condition. Probably unique. Item #68493
