A hardcover book club edition of Francis King's generously illustrated and well-written introductory to the Western magical tradition. Francis X. King (1934–1994) was a British popular historian of the occult, whose books played an important part in the renewal of interest in Western Magical traditions in late twentieth century Britain and beyond. His other books included "Ritual Magic in England," "Sexuality, Magic and Perversion," and "The Magical World of Aleister Crowley," and he was editor of "The Secret Rituals of the O.T.O.," "Crowley on Christ," "Astral Projection, Ritual Magic and Alchemy," and others. Light bruising to corners and spine ends, otherwise a tight, clean VG+ copy in VG+ dust jacket (Dust jacket a little chafed at edges and folds, not clipped. Now in mylar cover). Item #68586
