This Dover reprint edition contains the complete text of Montague Summers' translation of this important text, as it was published by Rodker in 1928, as well as the Introduction that Summers contributed to the new 1948 edition. The "Malleus Maleficarum" is without doubt the most infamous text in the witch-hunters canon. The 1928 Montague Summers edition, from which the present text is drawn, was "the first English translation of the 1489 Cologne edition of what became the standard reference work for the inquisitors and judges of the witch trials.
