A small, beautifully-llustrated grimoire offering techniques for binding Lucifer and Mephistophiles, attributed to Dr. Johann Faust. The book begins with a facsimile of the text and eleven lithographs from the original German work from 1527, an introduction to the translation, and the English translation. The latter is taken from a manuscript prepared by Major F. G. Irwin, friend of Frederick Hockley, who played an important part in the British occult revival. It was known to Arthur Edward Waite, who cited it in his "Book of Ceremonial Magic." A lovely production of an interesting early work. As new, thus in Fine condition in original glassine dust jacket.
