The Sacred Magick of the Angels.

Ontario Canada / Seattle, WA: Acorn Grimoire Makers / Catweasel Productions, ND [ circa 1980 ]. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. Small format (5 1/2 x 4 inches"). [52pp.] Quarter leather. Light brown patterned leather with printed paper title-label over beige paper-covered boards illustrated and lettered in black. Endpapers printed with seals and sigils. Illustrations of woodcut seals, sigils, designs of magical tools, etc. throughout. A number of the seals, and some of the text, printed in different colours. Edition limited to 200 numbered copies. A grimoire on "magickal invokation" comprising basic instructions on ritual, the preparation of talismans, demons, their attributes, conjurations, etc. apparently compiled from traditional sources by Jon Symon of Acorn Grimoire Makers and published in Ontario. Although undated it was probably published in the early 1980s. According to a publisher's note at the rear the book was "entirely set, bound, engraved (woodcuts), by occultists by hand on an antique hand operated platen press. Our grimoires are made to resemble the books of several centuries ago in the paper, typeface and binding, and our woodcuts lend the air of authenticity needed to invoke the ancient atmosphere the true occultist demands for his surroundings. It is also our policy to make our books in this easy to carry or hide size." "Catweasel Productions" address label on rear pastedown. The edition was divided into a number of different binding types (more, we suspect, by circumstance than by design). Most of the copies we've seen are in a rather ordinary full leather; this is the only copy with the attractive quarter leather binding to come our way. Extremely unusual in any form. One tiny mark on bottom edge of front board, and a tea drop (smalled than a cigarette end) on the rear board. Othewise a tight, clean near-fine copy. Item #68646
