A short and now scarce biography of Elias Ashmole (1617 -1692), best known for his "Theatrum Chemicum Britannicum". The publisher calls it: "A recognition of the genius of Elias Ashmole and his seminal significance not only the development of spiritually minded Freemasonry, but also to the dissemination of knowledge and the pursuit of truth throughout the world". From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications.
