The uncommon first English language edition of this semi-autobiographical novel, set in ancient Egypt, in which the author explores the idea of initiation and the occult teachings of the ancients. Elisabeth Haich (1897-1994) was a Hungarian born artist, pianist, and writer and this - her best known work - was first published in German as "Einweihung" in 1960. The author, Light shelf wear, spine ends bruised, owner's name on front blank, pages lightly toned but bright and unmarked. Overall a tight, clean VG+ copy in Good dust jacket (Dust jacket is a bit darkened and worn, chafed and creased around the edges, a few modest sized chips, rubbed at folds, price clipped.
