Egyptian Temples. Ancient Egypt, Margaret A. MURRAY.

Egyptian Temples.

London: Sampson Low, Marston & Co. Ltd., ND [ 1931 ]. First Edition? Hardcover. Large octavo. x + 246pp. Original green cloth with black titling to spine, b&w photos and illustrations, index. A survey of the architecture and history of the temples of ancient Egypt by British archeologist Margaret A. Murray - who is now best known for her controversial studies of European witchcraft: "The Witch-Cult In Western Europe" and "The God of the Witches". Undated but obviously from the early 1930s - Sampson Low, Marston & Co. Ltd. typically did not identify their first editions, of which this may well be an example. Cloth a bit rubbed and darkened overall - more so at spine, light chafing and bumps to edges and points, page edges darkened and with foxing, pages toned and with a little creasing and foxing here and there. Overall a solid, clean VG copy (no dust jacket). Item #68752
