An attractive & substantial modern reprint of what is arguably the best edtion of this work, with the extensive and important Introduction by Walter Leslie Wilshurst and "an Appendix containing the Table Talk and Memorabilia of Mary Anne Atwood." First written in 1850, Atwood's "Suggestive Inquiry" was one of the first works to systematically expound the now-popular spiritual interpretation of alchemy, and is considered a major work in the nineteenth century alchemical and hermetic canon.
