Item #68996 Koot Hoomi Unveiled; or, Tibetan "Buddhists" versus The Buddhists of Tibet. Arthur LILLIE, R. A. Gilbert.

Koot Hoomi Unveiled; or, Tibetan "Buddhists" versus The Buddhists of Tibet.

Bristol: Privately Printed / Theosophical Research Group, (1995). First Edition Thus. Booklet. Octavo. 32pp. Staped in black printed yellow card wrappers. Edition limited to 100 numbered copies, this being copy number 20. This copy SIGNED by Dr. R. A. Gilbert at the end of his Preface. A new edition of an interesting - and rather damning booklet - that was originally published by The Psychological Press Association / E. W. Allen in 1884. In it the author, a serious scholar of Buddhism, argues cogently that the "Tibetan Buddhism" described in the works of Blavatsky and Sinnett bears little or no relation to real Tibetan Buddhism, and that instead it is an amalgamation of the teachings etc. of "southern Buddhism" (Theravda) and the magic etc. described by Eliphas Levi. A near Fine copy. Item #68996
