Item #69167 [ The ] Household Gods, A Comedy. Aleister CROWLEY.

[ The ] Household Gods, A Comedy.

Toronto, Canada: LogoStar Press, 2011. First Canadian Edition (?). Softcover. Octavo stapled booklet. 32pp. Glossy covers illustrated in b&w. A modern reprint of Crowley's "Household Gods" - a play dedicated to Leila Waddell originally published in 1912. At the time, Crowley wrote that the work "is a sort of magical allegory, full of subtle ironies and mystifications; almost the only thing of its kind I have ever done - which perhaps accounts for my having a sneaking affection for it." This edition, published 99 years after the first, is most likely the first Canadian edition. This copy from the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Appears unused thus in Fine condition. Item #69167
