A translation into English (with transliterated Tibetan text) of the "Legs-bshad-mzdod" ("The Treasury of Good Sayings") a history of the Bon religion. The author, Samten Gyaltsen Karmay (bsam-gtan rgyal-mtshan mkhar-rme'u. b. 1936) was born in Eastern Tibet and studied in both Bon and dGe-lugs-pa monasteries before being invited to England by David Snellgrove under a Rockefeller fellowship in 1961. He has since joined an illustrious career in western academia, acknowledged as an expert in translating Tibetan texts and for his knowledge of the Bon religion. Binding shows just a touch of modest shelf wear, edges of textblock a little dusty, overlall a tight, clean, near-Fine copy in VG+ dust jacket (soft paper jacket a little darkened at folds and with a hint of creasing to the edges, now protected by removable mylar sleeve).
