Beige cloth letttered in black on upper cover and spine, fold-outs, appendixes, tables and index. A collection of lectures delivered by Besant at the Twenty-eighth Anniversary Meeting of the Theosophical Society of Adyar, in December 1903. Lectures entitled: The Monadic Pedigree; The Physical Pedigree; The Intellectual Pedigree and the Human Races. Annie Besant (1847–1933) was a prominent British socialist, Theosophist, women's rights activist, prolific writer who rote and spoke extensively on Theosophical subjects. She was a powerful orator, who became the president of the Theosophical Society, and the legal guardian of Jiddu Krishnamurti, controversial "World Teacher". Cloth a bit rubbed and darkened - more so at spine, light chafing to edges and points, page edges & endpapers darkened, bookplate on front pastedown, pages browned and with a very few pencil underlines, owner's note on rear pastedown. Despite some use - still a solid mostly clean VG copy. (no dust jacket). Item #69328
