(ii) + 156pp. Original red publisher's cloth, with gilt titling to spine and gilt double-triadic hexagram design on front cover. Generously illustrated in colour and black and white. A study of Tantric art by Ajit Mookerjee (1915-1990) an Indian born art curator, collector, and author who specialised in the sacred texts of the region, with a particular emphasis on Tantra. This volume, first published in 1967, was his first work on Tantra, and is beautifully illustrated with a wide variety of tantric images from the yantras and mystic diagrams used as tools of practice by the tantrikas themselves, to representations in Indian popular culture. No printing history is given, but as far as we can determine this the 1983 is the third edition. A hint of shelf-wear, top edge of text-block a little dusty, otherwise a bright, tight near-Fine copy in like dust jacket (dust jacket is just a little darkened at the spine, now protected by removable mylar sleeve).
