The first edition of this volume in which Besant, relying on information from Leadbeater obtained by "astral clairvoyance", further develops Blavatsky's cosmological theory that Root Races are stages in human evolution. Light overall shelf wear and rubbing to cloth and edges, spine ends and corners bruised and chafed with a few tiny tears and chips at spine ends, light fraying at corners, page edges & endpapers darkened and foxed, front endpapers cracking at inner hinge but hinge holding well, title page quite browned and foxed, pages toned with some light scattered foxing throughout but no markings to text.
