Black endpapers with red metallic sigil. Black and white diagrams. The Second Edition of the "Simon version" of the Necronomicon. As is now well known, three individuals played a major part in the work, those being 'Simon' who "provided the manuscript " (i.e. Peter Levenda, who wrote it); L. K. Barnes, who illustrated and acted as publisher, and James Wasserman, who produced and designed the book. There is a small chip - about the size of the nail of a little finger - missing from the leather at the bottom of the spine, but because the material underneath is black it isn't very visible (we didn't notice it when we bought it). A hint of cracking at the bottom of the front leather hinge (again practically imperceptable). Edge silver a bit rubbed and flecked at fore-edge. Still overall a tight, unmarked better-than VG copy.
