The deluxe edition, bound in geunuine leather, of the revised version of the Abracax edition of "Pseudomonarchia Daemonum," ("The False Hierarchy of Demons"). Although not stated in the volume, only 1000 copies of the genuine leather edition are being produced (there is also an artificial leather edition, which has the colour of the covers reversed - i.e. black spine and corners and scarlet boards). The "Pseudomonarchia Daemonum" is effectively a dictionary of demons which first appeared as an Appendix to Johann Weyer's "De praestigiis daemonum" in 1577 and has been frequently - if not always overtly - referenced in grimoires since. In 2015/2016 Abracax House brought out a new English translation of the "Pseudomonarchia Daemonum", entitled "The False Hierarchy of Demons." This was printed throughout in red and black, had parrallel English and Latin texts, and included digitally enhanced and enlarged versions of the woodcut designs from de Plancy's famed 19th century "Dictionnaire Infernal," demonic seals, as well as newly commissioned full-color illustrations of the various infernal beings. In 2020 / 2021 Abracax issued this revised and corrected second edition. In addition to the original material it includes "a [substantial] new index, additional black and white seals and full-color illustrations, full-color end papers, black ribbon bookmark and updates to layout and formatting." NEW book in Fine condition. Sealed in plastic and in the original publisher's shipping box (the out-of-box copy in the photographs is simply for illustrative purposes). NOTE large heavy book in slipcase will require additional shipping to all destinations. Item #69452
