The first editon of this study of the life and work of Madeline Montalban (1910-1982), an author and journalist who was well known in English occult circles as a ritual magician and founder of the occult group the Order of the Morning Star. Montalban's story is an interesting one although she is known to have been prone to embellish things. For example she claimed to have met Aleister Crowley, but her name does not appear in any contemporary documentation relating to him and at this point her account - which did change from time to time - cannot be assumed to be absolutely factual.
