Pagans and Witches of Essex.

Pagans and Witches of Essex.

Essex, UK: Phoenix of Chelmsford, 2013 [ 2012 ]. First Edition - Second Issue. Softcover. Octavo. 90pp. Colour plates, b&w illustrations, list of suggested reading. SIGNED and INSCRIBED by the author on the title page at the time of the release of this issue in February 2013. The first issue of this work was published a few months earlier, than this second issue, in December 2012. As far as we can tell the main (only?) difference between the two is that the second issue replaces the original colour cover illustration of clouds and a crescent moon with a black and white line drawing of a magician in stag's head and pelt. A privately-published collection of reflections on Andrew Chumbley, Essex Witchcraft, Dadaji etc by John Power, who (according to the Introduction) initiated Chumbley into the Uttarakaulas and became his friend. It includes excerpts of letters from Chumbley to Powers, mostly on the subject of Tantra, Recollections of Andrew Chumbley by Mark Harding, and a short account of "The Black Eagle Working with Andrew" by Gavin Semple. Appendixes on Dadaji etc. Also colour reproductions of the author's artwork, and a black and white image of Chumbley after a photograph. Loosely inserted is a single-sided A5 sized Fine Madness Society flyer on the bibliographic details of the book. "As New", thus in Fine condition. Item #69488
