The Rosicrucian Fraternity in America ( 2 Volumes ).

Quakertown, PA: Rosicrucian Foundation, ND [ Copyright 1935 ]. First Edition Thus. Hardcovers. Two volumes. Small, thick quartos. 464pp & 960pp. Original green cloth with gilt titles, etc. to spines, gilt crests of the House of Clymer on front covers, blind rules, colour and b&w illustrations. Bottom edges untrimmed. Bevelled edges to boards of Vol. I. R. Swinburne Clymer's massive documentary study of the rival Rosicrucian groupings in America. Obviously partisan, but includes a wealth of information, including much on Crowley, the O.T.O., the relations with A.M.O.R.C. etc. etc. and facsimile reproductions of important documents. Vol. I comprises a series of revised reprints of independent works on "Authentic and Spurious Organizations" that were originally published as separate monographs. These are: Book 1-The Brotherhood of the Rosy Cross; Book 2-The Militia - Door into the Temple; Book 3-A Challenge and the Answer; Book 4--Rosicrucian Names--Exclusive Right to Use; Book 5-An Exposé of the Imperator of AMORC; Book 6--Randolph and the Supreme Grand Dome in France - First American Grand Master of the Rosicrucians. Vol. II B has Book 7-An Answer to Lewis' White Book "D" being a Thorough Expose of his AMORC - A Spurious R.C. Order and Fraternal Swindle Operated as a Fraudulent Scheme and Family Racket" a massive 960 page investigation of Lewis and his AMORC, its connections with other occult fraternities, etc. The cloth and gilt work of Vol. I & II are slightly different - most if not all sets we've had are thus, suggesting that the two volumes may have been bound by different binders. Very light shelf rubbing and dust, light bruising to corners and spine ends, bump to spine end/corner of front board where they meet. A few tiny white flecks and marks to front board of Vol. II - we haven't tried to remove them for fear of damaging the set. Internally bright and tight and appears unread. Overall a lovely, clean and tight VG+ set. (No dust jackets issued with this set). Large and heavy set - WILL require additional shipping to all destinations - additional cost will be quoted prior to shipping. Item #69654
