A5 Booklet (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches). 34pp. Xeroxed sheets folded and stapled to make a booklet. Printed paper wrappers. B/w illustrations. An anonymously published edition of this famous alchemical work, reprinted by photocopying from the English-language translation in A. E. Waite's "The Hermetic Museum Restored" of 1893. text. Although not marked as such, this booklet was apparently published by the theatrical group "The Magick Theater" in association with Thelema Lodge of the O.T.O., probably in the 1980s. is one of the most famous sixteenth century emblem books to deal with the subject of spiritual alchemy. A short tract, it comprised a Preface and fifteen verses, each of which relates to an accompanying emblematic design. It circulated first in manuscript, and apparently also had an early Prague printing in 1599, but is best known from its publication in the "Musaeum Hermeticum" in 1625, of which Waite's 1893 was a translation. Very cheap fanzine type production values. Pencilled note on rear cover, covers a little darkened, otherwise a clean VG+ copy. Item #69711
