[ The Book Of The Law ] Liber AL vel Legis, sub Figura CCXX as delivered by XCIII=418 to DCLXVI.

[Los Angeles]: Xeno Publications, 1970. Second Printing. Softcover. Octavo Stapled Booklet. 44pp. Disbound. The second printing of this unusual edition of "The Book of the Law" produced by Jerry Kay, the film artist, who had a brief association with the Solar Lodge, and is best known as the art director of the film "Easy Rider." A previous owner has removed and discarded the original printed card wrappers and added gilt string ties to the binding, which are presumably for decoration rather than practicality, as the staples are still holding firm. It seems that they may have thought the original cover design was a bit "hippy" and wanted something more dignified for ritual use. The booklet therefore starts at the title-page, with "Liber AL" etc within Egyptian border. The text is exactly the same as the first Xeno Publications printing, with the Introduction and text of Liber CCXX from the (corrected) 1942 US Edition, followed by the "Old Comment" from "The Equinox Vol. I, No. VII," with the exception that the publication details on the verso of the title page are changed, and - rather curiously - the final paragraph of comment (starting "We defer consideration ...") has been omitted. DISBOUND (missing wrappers) as noted, outer pages somewhat darkened, otherwise nice condition. An interesting personalized example. Item #69712
