The Book of Lies; ( Which is Also Falsely Called Breaks, The Wanderings or Falsifications of the one thought of Frater Perdurabo (Aleister Crowley) which thought is itself untrue. A Reprint with an Additional Commentary to each Chapter )

Devon, England: The Haydn Press, 1962. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. Small Octavo. 196pp. Original black cloth, with gilt title, etc. to spine. Frontis photo of Frater Perdurabo. The first edition of Crowley's "The Book of Lies" to be published with Crowley's commentaries. The book was assembled by Gerald Yorke with the assistance of Karl Germer: with whom he wrote the joint Foreword. The "Haydn Press" was a venture founded by an acquaintance of Yorke's, William Haydn C. Evans and a few like-minded fellow esotericists, but as far as is known this edition of "The Book of Lies" is the only work they ever published.
From the collection of Clive Harper with his discrete book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well-known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications.
Head of spine lightly bruised, occult bookseller's label on front pastedown, one small, very light, pencilled annotation in the margin of p. 11 (easily erased). Edges of text block a little flecked. Otherwise an unusally tight and bright VG+ copy. (no dust jacket issued). Item #69811
