Index and statement of objectives of the Theosophical Society at rear. Charles Webster Leadbeater (1854-1934) was a prominent, if controversial, member of the Theosophical Society, co-founder of the Liberal Catholic Church, and author of many books on Theosophy and various aspects of occultism. This collection comprises some 13 essays drawn from the texts of a series of lectures which he delivered in Chicago in 1902-3. A contemporary leaflet (a single sheet folded to make four pages) loosely inserted advertising lectures on Theosophy and Occultism by L. W. Rogers. Corners bumped, spine ends and corners a little chafed and with a touch of fraying, cloth a little discolored in places. Edges of text block darkened, pages a little toned, a few dark marks from handling and dog ears to pages, three or four pages have some pencil underlining. Still a tight, solid copy in VG condition (no dust jacket, probably none issued). Item #69866
