An extensively revised and enlarged second edition of the work that was originally published in 1897. Includes a short new Preface to the second edition by Budge. Corners and head and tail of spine moderately bumped, cloth a little darkened, slight bubbling to front cover, rear cover quite bubbled, pinhead-sized snag in cloth at rear joint. Edges of text block darkened. Bookseller's labels on rear pastedown. Pages toned. Interesting First World War period owner's details on front free endpaper: "W. H. K.
