Chelmsford, UK: Xoanon Publishing Ltd., 2002. Sethos Edition, First Edition thus. Hardcover. Large octavo. x + 366pp. Publisher's green cloth with gilt title etc to spine and device to cover, glossary, illustrated, textured brown endpages. This "standard edition" limited to 484 numbered copies, this being copy number 386. Originally published in 1992 in softcover in a limited edition of only 300 copies, 'Azoetia or The Book of the Magical Quintessence,' has become one of the most sought-after modern magical works of our time and ís considered the foundation text of the Cultus Sabbatai. This "Sethos" edition was released 10 years after the first edition, and is the first hardbound edition of the work. It comprises a revised version of the original text together with additional formulae and around 45 illustrations, a number of which had not been previously published. Note that the more recently published third edition has been completely reset & redesigned, and while it includes three additional illustrations, it also appears to omit to full page plates and a number of the smaller illustrations that are in this (Sethos) edition. Cloth lightly rubbed and very slightly age darkened, spine very slightly canted - still, a tight, clean & unmarked near Fine copy. No dustjacket - none issued. Quite scarce in all editions.
