Quarto. lviii + 222pp. Original black grained (faux?) leather, ornately lettered & decorated with silver title on spine & title and decorations on front cover. All edges silver. Black and white diagrams. The Third Edition (revised) of the Simon "Necronomicon." The three individuals responsible for the work were: 'Simon' who "provided the manuscript " (but is now known to be its author, generally identified as Peter Levenda); Lawrence K. Barnes, who illustrated and acted as publisher, and James Wasserman, who produced and designed the book . All three are mentioned at some length in the Preface. Some copies of this edition had a "limitation page" bound in before the title-page, stating that the edition was limited to 3,333 numbered copies, and with a space for the copy number to be entered. This copy - like a number of others seen - was issued without the limitation page. Some flecking to the top-edge of the text-block, a little less to the fore-edge. Still a beautiful near-Fine copy inside and out - as close to new as it would be possible to get. (No dustjacket, none issued). A moderately large volume that may require additional shipping to the amount automatically quoted, the cost varying according to destination. Item #69979
