Kila, MT: Kessinger Publishing Company, ND (1990s). Facsimile edition. Softcover. Small quarto (10.25 x 8 inches). 158pp. Salmon-coloured card covers with black titling etc. Appendix, bibliography. A reprint of this work by Walter Begley (1845-1905), a clergyman and author with a fascination for the Shakespeare-Bacon controversy, and the Christian Cabala. In his "Biblia Cabalistica" he examines different aspects of Scripture using Christian Cabalism and through an exploration of anagrams be believed hidden in Biblical Latin. The work includes an interesting and lengthy examination of the number 666 ("It is the human number, the number of man, destitute of God") citing over 100 usages (pp. 119 - 125). Some sources suggest that only 50 copies of the original 1903 edition were printed. The present edition was published by Kessinger Publishing Company and is basically an enlarged format facsimile of the first edition, with a replacement title-page. Spine lightly faded, a little creasing to the wrappers, otherwise a tight, clean VG+. Item #70032
