Original full white vellum binding, with gilt stamped leather title-label to spine, and gilt Ouroboros design on front board. Marbled endpapers. Frontis portrait of Abano, engraved initial letters, and Italian woodcuts of planetary figures and sigils. The limitation statement simply reads "Limited Edition. This copy is numbered: { number filled in by hand }." This copy is number 50. Although unstated, the printing was apparently limited to 250 copies, most of which were bound in cloth or leather with, according to the publishers, only 50 copies produced with the vellum binding. The Heptameron and Arbatel of Magic, are two of the best-known popular manuals of medieval magic. This Ouroboros Press edition of the Heptameron has been re-set using Renaissance style typefaces and decorative ornaments reminiscent of the grimoires of past eras, whilst preserving the original woodcut angelic sigils. A few natural imperfections to the vellum (slightly yellowed and darkened in places), boards slightly bowed as almost invariable with vellum, still a lovely, bright, Fine copy. Item #70041
