Hermetic Consciousness Unveiled; Showing the different states of Consciousness and how consciousness through its unfoldment is lifted to Super-Consciousness, Kosmic Consciousness, Samadhi Consciousness, Divine Consciousness, etc. A Course of Private Lessons given to his Personal Pupils

Chicago, IL: Hermetic Publishing Company, 1928. First Edition. Hardcover, Octavo, 118pp (+ iipp - blank and advertisement). Original blue cloth, gilt title, blind rules etc. to front board. The author, Dr. A. S. Raleigh, was apparently the "Official Scribe" of a group called "The Hermetic Brotherhood of Atlantis" and "Hierophant of the Mysteries of Isis." He was the author of a number of pamphlets and books, the best known of which is probably "The Speculative Art of Alchemy" (1926). According to the title-page this particular work was a "course of private lessons given to his personal pupils" aimed at "Showing the different states of Consciousness and how consciousness through its unfoldment is lifted to Super-Consciousness, Kosmic Consciousness, Samadhi Consciousness, Divine Consciousness, etc.." Chapter headings: I. Inspiration; Thought Vibration or the Law of Attraction of the Thought World; III. Hypnotism; IV. Positive and Negative Aspects of Mind; V. Subjective Consciousness; VI. Super-Consciousness; VII. Kosmic Consciousness; VIII. Self Consciousness; IX. Samadhi Consciousness; X. Seership. Covers a little faded, particularly at spine, a little light rubbing to cloth at edges, slightly leaned. Pages quite toned and with a small amount of light pencilling (easily erased). Overall a tight clean, about VG+ copy of one of Raleigh's scarcest titles (no dust-jacket - believe none issued). Item #70142
