Liber Agape [ and ] De Arte Magica (Annotated). The Works of Aleister Crowley. Vol. I.

Keighley, England: Kadath Press, ND [ 1986 ]. First Edition Thus. Softcover. Octavo. 52pp. Stapled wrappers of pale blue marbled stock with black titling, borders and illustrations on covers. The first joint publication of the two inter-connected Crowley works on sex magick, with an Introduction and notes by Ray Sherwin, one of the key figures in the resurgence of interest in Crowley in the UK in the 1970s. In addition to publishing and editing Crowley works, Sherwin is the author of "The Book of Results" and "The Theatre of Magick" and is one of the originators of Chaos Magic. He was co-founder, with Peter Carroll, of the Illuminates of Thanateros. Despite being titled "The Works of Aleister Crowley. Vol. I" this booklet bears no relation to the eponymous 3 volume set (commonly known as "The Collected Works") first published between 1905 and 1907. It is obvious from the "Vol. I" in the title that Sherwin intended this to be the first volume of a series, but no others were forthcoming. Appears "as new" thus a tight, clean and unmarked near Fine copy of an uncommon edition. Item #70211
