Although the work attracted some hostility from within the Masonic movement, Waite's "New Encyclopaedia" proved to be very popular, and was the most successful of his books in Waite's own lifetime. Cloth lightly discolored at bottom edge of Vol. I and top edge of Vol. II., a few corners of the boards very lightly bruised and rubbed.
