The first publication of the remarkable mid-fifteenth century deck of tarot cards painted by Bonafacio Bembo for the Visconti-Sforza family, generously illustrated (in black and white), with extensive commentary on the cards and their meaning. A few light flecks to cloth of spine, with just some very light shelf dust and rubbing, a small erasure on inside front cover, light crease across bottom corner of front free endpaper, otherwise near-fine. Thus near Fine condition. Includes a rather tatty example the original publisher's textured glassine (opaque tissue) protective wrapper (no dust jacket as such issued). Item #70311
