Concentrates much more on the grimoires and their content than other similar studies - and also apparently contains much on Indian and Arabic magic that was not readily available elsewhere. Contents include: History and Development, Dedication Rites and Implements, The Heptameron of Peter de Abano, Infernal Evocation and Demonology, Witches and Sorcerers, The Devil, White Magic, Spells, Alchemy, Conjurtion, Possession and Exorcism. Appendices. 'Ancient British Laws against the Black Art,' and 'The Vampire.' Cloth discolored in spots particularly on spine and edges, spine a little darkened, small match-head sized snag to cloth near top of spine, cloth a little frayed at points, bookplate on front pastedown. A touch of pale foxing to first and last few leave. Otherwise a sound, unmarked good+ copy (lacks dust jacket). Item #70330
