Item #70384 The Adventures of a Modern Occultist. Oliver BLAND.

The Adventures of a Modern Occultist.

New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1929. First Edition. Hardcover. Small octavo. xiv + 222pp. Dark teal cloth with black titling etc within a black line border. A rather interesting anecdotal account of the occult underworld in early twentieth century Britain and Europe, touching on magic, Theosophy, Spiritualism, ghosts, etc. The author is an interesting if enigmatic character about whom little is known - and who is surely worthy of furthed investigation. Cloth a bit rubbed with a few light marks from handling and use, and a small white patch on top corner of front board. Light bumping and chafing to edges. Front hinge a little shaken. Pages edges are quite darkened, pages browned - but clean and unmarked. Bookplate on front pastedown. A tight, internally clean copy (no dust jacket). Item #70384
