The first US publication of a number of important Golden Dawn 'Flying Rolls' (official teaching documents) which deal with subjects such as astral travel, exorcism, and ritual magic. Francis X. King (1934–1994) was a British popular historian of the occult, who had a special interest in Aleister Crowley and the Golden Dawn. His books played an important part in the renewal of interest in Western Magical traditions in late twentieth century Britain and beyond. His other books included "Ritual Magic in England," "Sexuality, Magic and Perversion," and "The Magical World of Aleister Crowley," and he was editor of "The Secret Rituals of the O.T.O.," "Crowley on Christ," and others. A little light shelfwear, top edge of text block quite darkened and fore-edge moderately darkened and flecked (foxed). Bookplate on front paste-down and small finger-nail sized blue rubber stamp of floral design on front free endpaper. Else a tight, clean, VG+ copy in better-than-VG dust jacket. (Dust jacket lightly rubbed and and creased at spine ends, edges and folds, back panel darkened and a little yellowed. Not clipped. Now portected by removable mylar cover). Item #70513
