The Ancient Crafte and Practice of Stone Magick. Book One of the Practical Earth Magick Series of Ancient Magickal Practices.

Enumclaw, WA, USA: Red Cap Press, 1986. First Edition. Softcover. Small octavo. 48pp (+ ivpp blanks). Printed card covers. Illustrations by Branda Hart. A text on traditional British earth-magick arts, attributed to John Fian a Scottish schoolmaster who was put to death for alleged witchcraft crimes in January 1591 in Prestonpans, East Lothian. The text was later reissued, with others, in the volume "Old Tradition Crafte" published by Ars Obscura Press 2005). The publishers of the 2005 collection described "Stone Magick" as: "The primary foundation of Earth Magick, the Four Elements and the Seasons of the Sun and Moon, are elaborated on. Herein is a hands-on grimoire for the making of the ritual tools, starting with the tools for cutting stone, the cutting of the stones, the consecrations and blessings, and the Calling of the stones. The additional key of the witches' Rune alphabet is present." The production is reminiscent of the publications by Acorn Grimoire Makers / Catweasel Productions who in their latter years were based in Seattle, so it seems possible that there was some connection between the publishers. Extremely uncommon. A couple of tiny spots on front cover, a little light shelf-wear, still a tight, clean VG+ copy. Item #70578
