Liber Niger Legionis: The Grimoire of Pharaon.

Calgary, Canada: Octavia Press, 2005. First Edition. Limited. Hardcover, Octavo, 162pp. Black paper covered boards, with foil red pentagram stamped into front board. Ills. First edition limited to 36 copies numbered copies, each signed and with a hand-drawn sigil created by the author. This copy, No. 9, was additionally inscribed by the author to Clive Harper at the UK launch party in July 2005 "To Clive. With the Laughter and Lies of Azhi Dahaka, Dragon of Desire [Sigil]." A grimoire, apparently following broadly in the traditions of Andrew Chumbley, Kenneth Grant and Austin Osman Spare - and seemingly representative of the teachings of two occult orders: Arcanum Ordo Nigri Solis and Ordo Hermeticum Sinistrum. The pseudonymous author is said to have later collaborated with Victor Voronov on "Liber Nigri Solis." Curiously the pentagram on this first edition is pointed upwards whereas that on the second edition was inverted. We have been reliably informed that the pentragram was indeed *intended* to be inverted, however, the binder of the first edition noticed that "the star on the front cover was upside down" and helpfully "corrected" it without telling the publisher. It was returned to the proper direction in the second edition. A small black spot - a binding imperfection - at upper gutter where the half-title page meets the adjacent blank. A few light marks to the boards - as practically always. Otherwise a Fine copy of an obviously scarce edition. Item #70588
