Ashcroft-Nowicki (b. 1929) was born into a family steeped in occult traditions, with a Romany grandmother, and in the 1960s joined the Fraternity of the Inner Light, the well-known esoteric order founded by Dion Fortune. It was through there she became acquainted with Gareth Knight and Walter Ernest Butler, whose Helios group offered correspondence course teachings on magick and Qabalah. In the early 1970s Butler founded a new fraternity, the Servants of the Light, which Ashcroft-Nowicki joined becoming its Director of Studies in 1976. In line with her own background, in this work Ashcroft-Nowicki present a varied collection of rituals and teachings drawn from a variety of traditions. Edges lightly chafed.
