Third Impression of the Second Edition (revised) of Mead's translation of this important third century (CE) Gnostic collection. The second (and best) edition, revised, of Mead's translation of this important third century (CE) Gnostic text. George Robert Stowe Mead (1863 - 1933), was an English historian and writer who was a prominent member of the Theosophical Society, as well as the founder of the Quest Society. Mead's writings dealt mainly with Hermetica & Gnosticism and he is undoubtedly best known for his "Thrice Greatest Hermes", a massive landmark translation and collection of Trismegistic Literature still important today. Cloth a bit rubbed and darkened, corners and spine ends lightly bumped and chafed, match-head sized snag in cloth mid-spine. Edges of text block darkened and with a few faint marks from use. Despite moderate signs of wear - a solid and unmarked about VG copy in Poor dust jacket. (Most of the dust jacket is present but it is heavily worn, with numerous tears, and old paper tape repairs to the inside. Now protected by removable mylar cover.). Item #70794
