Item #70859 Across the Gulf. Aleister CROWLEY.

Across the Gulf.

San Francisco CA: [ OTO ] Stellar Visions, 1986. First Edition Thus. Large format softcover. Quarto (11 x 8 1/2 inches), (iv) + 62pp (iipp.). Flexible clear plastic front cover sheet over pale grey black-printed thin card cover, dark blue plastic rear cover, the whole secured together with a dark blue plastic back strip. Hand-colored endsheets. Originally published in "The Equinox, Vol. I No. 7," Crowley described this text as a "fantastic account of a previous incarnation. Its principal interest is that its story of the overthrowing of Isis by Osiris may help the reader to understand the meaning of the overthrowing of Osiris by Horus in the present Aeon." This edition published by the well-known OTO figure Ebony Anpu and his co-publisher Lotte Lieb (Sr Iahan) under the Stellar Visions imprint as part of an effort to make available out-of-print and hard-to-find Crowley titles in the 1980s. The verso of the title page has a series of quotes from the Grady McMurtry versus the Marcelo Motta court case of 1985, whilst the final leaf has a statement about the O.T.O. on the recto, and a list of Stellar Visions publications on the verso. We have seen reference to an earlier (1981) Stellar Visions edition, but have not seen a copy, and suspect that the listing might have been erroneous. Obviously the print-run was small as copies are seldom seen. A little darkened at edges, otherwise a clean, unmarked VG+ copy. Item #70859
