[ Argenteum Astrum ] Silver Star: "How to Make Your Own McOTO" [ OTO - Phenomenon, Part 8. ] The Law is For All. Photocopied in a Strictly Limited Edition - only for Academic purposes.

Munich: A Black Flag production / in association with Naughty Nun New Media, 2006. Limited Edition. Softcover. Quarto (11 3/4 x 8 1/4 inches). vi + 316pp. Black plastic comb binding, securing light blue card covers with black printed text behind clear plastic cover-sheets. Edition limited to twelve hand-numbered copies this being No. 3. A large format photocopy reprint of one of Peter Koenig's most controversial works - mostly comprising facsimiles of Crowley's handwritten originals of key O.T.O. texts and rituals held in the Yorke Collection. It includes Ist to VIth degree initiations, De Hommunculo & Agape and other IXth degree material, Ritual CXX of Order of Thelema, Invocation of Horus, as well as Crowley's notes on various Golden Dawn rituals, ritual material by Theodor Reuss, etc. etc. The publisher evidently put some effort into preparing this edition, as the copies actually appear "cleaner" and more legible than in the original 1996 edition (of course the facts that the pages are much larger helps the readability. The title is of course a mocking reference to Grady McMurtry and the "Caliphate", presumably suggesting that anyone who had the documents could create their own O.T.O. The publishers: Black Flag / Naughty Nun were a semi-clandestine publishing house who were not renowned for the respect that they showed for other people's copyrights. It is possible therefore that this is an "unauthorised" (pirated) edition. Authorised or not, it is an obviously rare version of an important collection of source material that is scarce in any edition. Very light signs of use, else a tight, clean near Fine copy. Scarce.
