Item #70946 Magick in Theory and Practice. Aleister CROWLEY.

Magick in Theory and Practice.

Secaucus NJ: Castle Books, ND [ circa 1970s ]. Reprint. Hardcover. Large octavo. xxviii + 436pp. Original beige papered boards with black title, etc. to spine. An early 1970s printing of the Castle edition of Crowley's "Magick in Theory and Practice" (Book Four, Part III), generally described as the Beast's magnum opus. The Castle edition was reprinted in reduced format facsimile from the original 1929 Paris edition. In its first printing (circa 1960) the Castle edition was the First US edition of this work. Unfortunately most of the Castle printings were undated, which makes it difficult to determine the date of publication - though we are reasonably certain that this copy dates from the early 1970s. Light overall shelfwear, spine ends lightly chafed and bruised, edges of text block darkened with a couple of dozen small spots (these look more like a ink spatter than foxing), the actua; pages bright and unmarked. Thus a tight and clean about VG + copy in near VG dust jacket (Dust jacket has light overall wear with chafing and light creasing and some tiny tears to all edges, inner flaps and reverse side have some light brown spotting, not clipped, dust jacket now covered in protective mylar sleeve).
