The catalogue was produced to accompany the 2005 Sao Paulo retrospective of the work of the Xul Solar, as well as to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the exhibiting museum. The Argentinian artist Xul Solar (1887 – 1963), had a life-long interest in the occult, mysticism, and the excitement of the visionary experience, and is known to have who met Rudlof Steiner and to have studied under Aleister Crowley for a time in Paris in the 1920s. The volume includes essays by Patricia Artundo, Jorge Schwartz, Daniel E. Nelson, Cintia Cristia, Maria Lucia Bastos Kern and Annick Louis that seek to explore the relationship between Solar's art and his spiritual path. Amongst the artworks exhibited - and therefore reproduced in the volume - is Solars' portrait of Crowley "Muy Mago" (1961). Light rubbing to covers, tiny bit of chafing to spine ends - otherwise appears unused, thus in near Fine condition.
