The Book of the Law. Liber AL vel Legis Sub Figura CCXX.
New York: Ordo Templi Orientis and Magickal Childe, 1990. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. Small Octavo (5.25 x 3.25 inches). 93 [+ iii]pp. Full red leatherette binding, with "THE / BOOK / OF THE / LAW /LIBER / AL VEL / LEGIS / SUB FIGURA CCXX" within decorative Egyptian style borders gilt-stamped on front board. "Crowley The Book of the Law" (all in caps) lettered in gilt down the spine. Publisher's details and ISBN in gilt on rear board. Faux-silk page marker, all edges gilt. This is the original 1990 "shirt pocket" edition of "The Book of the Law" issued by Magickal Childe Publishing in association with the Ordo Templi Orientis - not the later reissue. It has the O.T.O. lamen, the Baphomet seal, and the imprimatur of Hymenaeus Beta printed facing the title page. The text comprises a new Foreword, signed "A.V." [Ad Veritatem: the magical name of James Wasserman] the Preface from the 1926 Tunis Edition, the Introduction and text of Liber CCXX from the 1938 British edition (but incorporating the corrections supplied by the O.T.O. for the 1976 Weiser printing) and a four page overview of the O.T.O. which appears to be a heavily revised and updated version of the two page essay originally published in the 1942 US edition. A little leaned (canted) dent - barely larger than a pin-head - to top edge of of front board. Otherwise like new - thus a tight, clean near-Fine copy (no dust jacket issued). Item #70981
