A new edition of this translation of the Richard version of this important text of Mahayana Buddhism. Although at the time of this publication it was commonly attributed to the Indian Sarvastivada Buddhist philosopher, dramatist, poet and orator Ashvagosha, modern scholarship suggests that the text is more likely of Chinese origin. Light rubbing to edges, spine ends and corners, a few light bumps, pages lightly toned. Otherwise a tight and unmarked VG+ copy in VG dust jacket.
