According to the publisher the author, B. Bhattacharya, was born in 1910 in Varanasi, and "received his first education in traditional toles in Sanskrit and further did M.A. (English) from Allahabad University." He spent much of his 76 years exploring tantra, and wrote several other books including "Saivism and the Phallic World" (2 vols. 1993). Better than average production values for an Indian book of the period. Light general wear with a bit of rubbing to edges and a small bump on top edge. Very light foxing and slight darkening to top edge. Otherwise, a sound and bright VG+ copy in VG dustjacket. (Dustjacket rubbed, small creases on top edge, price clipped.). Item #12262
