Two maps, 28 b/w plates, b/w illustrations in text, bibliography, index. A broad ranging study of religion and folklore in Szechwan and the Chinese Tibetan border regions, mostly based on field research undertakeb between 1919 and 1939. The author, David Graham, was a missionary in China who had also studied anthropology, archaeology, and methods of historical research. There is a small, neat, yin and yang symbol stamped on both pastedowns and the title page. All the copies we have seen have had this - perhaps one shipment were all thus marked. The book is actually 'old new stock' so aside from a little bit of rubbing and one tiny nick to the top of the dust jacket both the book and the dust jacket are in Fine condition (dust jacket protected by removable mylar sleeve).
